The Name's Bond, James Bond.
Saturday, December 09, 2006
I saw the new James Bond movie, Casino Royale, this past Monday and I'm totally back into James Bond again. This Bond movie is, in my opinion, the best Bond film since Goldeneye. Daniel Craig makes an excellent Bond. I had my doubts but I was proved wrong. He's a great actor. Casino Royale is based on the first Bond novel by Ian Fleming, so this movie is basically a "Bond Revival" like how Batman Begins is a "Batman Revival." The theme song for the movie, "You Know My Name" by Chris Cornell (of Soundgarden and Audioslave fame) really captivated me. It's an incredibly catchy song and I absolutely love singing and humming it. It's been in my head for the past week now.

"You Know My Name" by Chris Cornell
If you take a life do you know what you'll give?
Odds are, you won't like what it is
When the storm arrives, would you be seen with me?
By the merciless eyes of deceit?

I've seen angels fall from blinding heights
But you yourself are nothing so divine
Just next in line

Arm yourself because no-one else here will save you
The odds will betray you
And I will replace you
You can't deny the prize it may never fulfill you
It longs to kill you
Are you willing to die?

The coldest blood runs through my veins
You know my name

If you come inside things will not be the same
When you return to the night
And if you think you've won
You never saw me change
The game that we all been playing

I've seen diamonds cut through harder men
Than you yourself
But if you must pretend
You may meet your end

Arm yourself because no-one else here will save you
The odds will betray you
And I will replace you
You can't deny the prize it may never fulfill you
It longs to kill you
Are you willing to die?

The coldest blood runs through my veins

Try to hide your hand
Forget how to feel
Forget how to feel

Life is gone with just a spin of the wheel
Spin of the wheel

Arm yourself because no-one else here will save you
The odds will betray you
And I will replace you
You can't deny the prize it may never fulfill you
It longs to kill you
Are you willing to die?

The coldest blood runs through my veins
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name

How can "Sweating Bullets" not be in your top three favorite Megadeth songs!? "Take No Prisoners"? Man...

Well anyway, I liked your selection for all of the other ones, but I'm not really the biggest Cornell (sp?) fan ever since he cut his hair and was actually grooming himself. He can still scream with the best of them but he lost some of his metal-ness with that in my opinion.

I've never seen any Bond movies ever. I guess I've never been interested enough to watch them at all. I'm not into action movies so much. They tend to really annoy me because they seem to be lacking substance. However, if you can convince me that they are worth watching I promise to look into them...eventually.

YEA! CASINO ROYALE WAS SO GOOD!!! I went with Ted to see it. That was the first James Bond movie I've ever seen. I think that it is kinda nasty that a dude who looks like hes a 50 year old man got to play the roll of sexy James Bond.

I thought Bond was the young kid in the beginning of the movie! :(
