| Being Sick is AWESOME [/sarcasm] |
| Wednesday, November 29, 2006 |
Ugh. I got a cold on Monday and it's turned into something worse. Runny nose, coughing, drowsiness. It's awful. It's even worse enduring it in school. I refuse to be absent. Two reasons. One, I'd hate to have double the homework, and Two, I have NEVER been absent in my days in High School (Only one Tardy, 0 Absences from Freshman-Senior). I want a perfect attendance, so that everybody can turn to me during Graduation and call me a dork. =P
So some people say "Stay Home! You're going to get other people sick!" Survival of the Fittest, I say! Just kidding. Since I'm sick I've made sure that I don't come into direct contact with people. I'm gonna feel bad for whoever uses my keyboard after me when we go to the media lab. Oi!
On an entirely happy and exciting note, my mother will be coming back from Poland today! Her plane will be landing around 7PM I believe. There was fog around Poland but everything seems A-OK. I'm excited to see her again, she was gone for ten days. She went to Poland because her brother (my uncle) passed away on November 18th (Saturday). He had been suffering from Leukemia since around August when he was diagnosed. It was a very depressing weekend and week in general for me afterwards, but I'm glad he's in a better place now. He was the most hard-working man I've ever known, and was such an amazing person. My mother told me that over five-hundred people attended his funeral, and there was even an orchestra playing for him. He was a well-respected man. So Rest in Peace, Wujek (Uncle) Janusz. I, and my whole family will miss you. |

"Survival of the fittest", indeed! I can get a cold just by looking at someone who has one and was a bit nervous about taking your test paper yesterday. (I know... I'm a germophobe!)
I don't want to get sick, but with all of you sniffly critters around me, I can feel it looming in the near future! :-(
P.S. Sorry about your uncle. But I know you'll be glad to see your mom. (I hope she bought you something nice while she was in Poland!)

I just want you to know I understand the perfect attendence thing. I had perfect attendence freshman year, then during sophomore I got suspended over something stupid and was really ticked off. This year I have no idea what has gotten into me. I've become really sick of school and the work and my attendence has been somewhat to be desired. For two days I was just exhausted and did not go and the 3 days after I thought I was going to die of the worst cold on the planet.
So much for perfect attendance and everyone calling me the dork on graduation.

I've never had perfect attendence. It's not because I'm always sick, but something always happens that prevents me from going to school...like a wedding or funeral, and those aren't things you just skip. Oh well...
If its being called a dork on graduation day you want...it's what you'll get. I'll even make a sign for you and everything. I'm excited.
I'm sorry your uncle died. I'm sure he was a wonderful person. I think its wonderful, by the way, that you know so much about your heritage. I wish I had the oppurtunity to know half as much. I try.

omg your right!!! HAHAHAHAA!! and YOUR MOM WAS IN POLAND?! HOW WAS HER TRIP?!?!?!
-
Thanks everybody. My mom's trip wasn't a happy one but everything went safely so I guess that's all that matters. She DID bring lots of treats and whatnot from Poland so I've chowing down on Polish chocolates =P
